Darci Griffith Gamerl (oboe, English horn, composer) and David Downing (cello, looping artist, composer) form Bel Canto Duo, an ensemble that blends classical tradition with innovation, healing music, and immersive storytelling. Their performances create space for reflection, connection, and wonder—bridging art, science, and environmental consciousness.

Bel Canto Duo brings audiences into immersive worlds where music, story, and image converge. Their film scores (Willa Cather: Breaking the Mold, Taking Flight) highlight cultural heritage and environmental stewardship. Their collaborations with neurologists and wellness researchers explore the science of sound and healing, investigating music’s effect on neuroplasticity, stress reduction, and mental health.

Whether in galleries, concert halls, or natural landscapes, Bel Canto Duo inspires audiences to listen more deeply—to themselves, to one another, and to the world around them.
